Begin Your Journey to Healing and Self-Discovery

Do you feel disconnected from your true self? Do you struggle with past traumas, anxiety, or feel like something is missing in your life? Colombia’s sacred medicinal plants have been used for centuries to facilitate a deeper understanding of our being, spiritual awakening, and personal transformation. At Camino al Sol, we have created a sacred space where you can safely explore the healing potential of Yagé (ayahuasca) under the guidance of experienced Colombian Taitas from the Siona tribe.

For anyone looking to go on a spiritual journey and connect with their higher calling, I highly recommend this place. The people, the territory, and the medicine is beyond special. Extremely grateful for this experience and all it’s taught me and opened up my heart to. If I could give more stars, I would!

Our Healers

Our ceremonies are led by respected Taitas from the Muinane and Siona tribes of Colombia, who bring decades of experience working with sacred plant medicines. They are dedicated to sharing the ancestral wisdom of their traditions in a way that honors their cultural heritage while making these powerful healing modalities accessible to those who seek them with respect and sincerity.

All our Shamans are trained Healers and Elders who strictly follow traditions set forth by their ancestors. They prepare the medicine themselves according to sacred traditions, ensuring its purity and potency. View this video to learn a little bit more about Camino al Sol.

Your Ayahuasca Retreat in Colombia with at Camino al Sol

Our retreats are designed to provide a comprehensive healing experience in a safe and supportive environment. Here’s what you can expect:

Our center is located in El Retiro, Antioquia, about one hour from Medellín. The finca is quiet, tranquil, and full of nature, offering an ideal space for deep inner work. Ceremonies are held in a beautiful Medicine House, specially designed to support the sacred work of healing.

Our retreats go beyond ceremony. Experience a complete healing journey that weaves together traditional Amazonian wisdom and integrative practices. Receive ancestral massage therapies, cleanse with sacred plant baths and fire rituals, and connect through heartfelt social sharing. Each element is designed to help you process, embody, and carry the insights into your daily life with clarity and strength.

While each day offers a unique rhythm, a typical day at Camino al Sol is designed to maximize your introspection and integration:

Food: All meals are delicious, plant-based, and prepared with fresh, local ingredients, which supports your body’s processes. This rhythm ensures a balance between ceremony, personal introspection, and community support.

Mornings: These typically begin with a light, nutritious breakfast, followed by quiet reflection, guided meditations, or gentle movement (e.g., yoga, stretching, hiking).

Afternoons: These may include integration workshops, circles of word, educational talks on ancestral wisdom, time for personal reflection, or nature walks through the stunning Andean landscape.

Evenings: the circles of word are held before our sacred ayahuasca ceremonies begin on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, followed by a rest period to process the information and sleep the following morning.

Comfortable cabins for 4 people with single beds, clean, simple accommodations that support the healing process, surrounded by beautiful nature for reflection and connection.

Simple, wholesome meals that follow the medicine guidelines, with vegetarian and vegan options available, all prepared with care to support your journey.

In our Community, we deeply honor the menstrual cycle as a time of immense power and spiritual connection for women. During this lunar period, women are believed to be profoundly connected to the spirits, undergoing a process of cleansing and renewal. For these significant reasons, and to maintain the energetic integrity of our sacred space, women who are menstruating are not permitted to participate in ceremony. This is also due to the potential for adverse reactions when certain traditional medicines are used during this time.

We kindly ask that you plan your retreat dates mindful of your cycle. If your cycle begins unexpectedly early, you will be moved to a separate building for your safety and the well-being of others in ceremony. We will continue to care for you and offer other supportive therapies where possible. Our traditions view the menstrual cycle not as impure, but as sacred medicine—a powerful expression of the female connection to the universe’s rhythms. To understand more, read this blog post.

Ayahuasca, also locally known in Colombia as Yagé, is a sacred plant medicine traditionally brewed from the vine Banisteriopsis caapi and leaves from Psychotria viridis. This traditional preparation is deeply respected among Colombian indigenous communities, particularly by the Inga and Siona peoples, who have used it for centuries in spiritual ceremonies for healing, clarity, and personal growth.

Opening Circle: Introduction and intention setting.
• Medicine Intake: Guided by the Taita, each participant receives Yagé.
• Ceremony Experience: Participants rest in a meditative state while the Taita sings traditional chants (icaros), creating a safe ceremonial space.
• Support & Guidance: Facilitators provide emotional support and safety monitoring.
• Closing Ceremony: Participants share insights in a supportive circle, promoting integration.
