Our Healers

Our ceremonies are led by respected Taitas from the Muinane and Siona tribes of Colombia, who bring decades of experience working with sacred plant medicines. They are dedicated to sharing the ancestral wisdom of their traditions in a way that honors their cultural heritage while making these powerful healing modalities accessible to those who seek them with respect and sincerity.

All our Shamans are trained Healers and Elders who strictly follow traditions set forth by their ancestors. They prepare the medicine themselves according to sacred traditions, ensuring its purity and potency. View this video to learn a little bit more about Camino al Sol.

Essential Details for Your Journey

The best diet is to eat light vegetarian food for 3 days before and after the Ayahuasca ceremony, with moderate-low levels of salt, sugar and fat. Raw food on the day of ceremony is most recommended.
Most important are NO PORK AND NO ALCOHOL.
The guidelines are:

Ensure you are well hydrated, but please avoid drinking too much water directly before or during Ayahuasca ceremonies.

NO red/heavy meats

NO strong alcohol, beer, wine

NO fermented or non fresh foods, cheese, miso, tofu or other fermented soy products, dried fruits, tamari or soy sauce, sauerkraut, pickled foods, protein extracts, processed or smoked meat products, yeast/brewers yeast

Moderate consumption of salt and sugar/honey – 3 days before and after.

In our Community, we deeply honor the menstrual cycle as a time of immense power and spiritual connection for women. During this lunar period, women are believed to be profoundly connected to the spirits, undergoing a process of cleansing and renewal. For these significant reasons, and to maintain the energetic integrity of our sacred space, women who are menstruating are not permitted to participate in ceremony. This is also due to the potential for adverse reactions when certain traditional medicines are used during this time.

We kindly ask that you plan your retreat dates mindful of your cycle. If your cycle begins unexpectedly early, you will be moved to a separate building for your safety and the well-being of others in ceremony. We will continue to care for you and offer other supportive therapies where possible. Our traditions view the menstrual cycle not as impure, but as sacred medicine—a powerful expression of the female connection to the universe’s rhythms. To understand more, read this blog post.

Ayahuasca, also locally known in Colombia as Yagé, is a sacred plant medicine traditionally brewed from the vine Banisteriopsis caapi and leaves from Psychotria viridis.
